Sharon Dempsey
is a Belfast based writer of fiction and non-fiction books, with four health books published. Her crime debut Little Bird was released July 2017 with Bloodhound Books. Her contemporary fiction novel, A Posy of Promises, will be published by Bombshell Books in June.
Looking foward to Sharon's new release in June!
Little Bird An unmissable serial killer thriller Forensic psychologist, Declan Wells, is dealing with the aftermath of a car bomb during the Troubles in Belfast, which has left him in a wheelchair. But that is only the start of his problems. Welsh Detective, Anna Cole is running away from a dead-end relationship and the guilt of her mother's death. She hopes secondment to the Police Service of Northern Ireland will provide a distraction. There is a killer on the streets targeting young women and leaving behind macabre mementoes to taunt the police. Can Declan and Anna work together to catch the deranged killer before he strikes again? And is it ever possible to leave the past behind you?
Andrea MaraAndrea Marais a freelance writer, author, and blogger, who lives in Dublin with her husband and three young children. She writes lifestyle features for Irish newspapers and magazines, and has won a number of awards for blogging. She attempts – often badly - to balance work, family, and writing, then lets off steam on her blog, OfficeMum.ie
Andrea's first book, The Other Side of the Wall (Poolbeg Press) and was published in 2017 and shortlisted for the Kate O’Brien Award in 2018. Her second book One Click is out now in bookstores and on Amazon.
When Lauren takes a photo of a stranger on a beach and shares it online, she has no idea what will come of that single click. Her daughters are surprised that she posted a photo without consent, but it’s only when she starts to get anonymous messages about the woman on the beach that she deletes the photo. It’s too little too late, and the messages escalate, prompting Lauren to confess to the woman. The woman has her own dark story, one that might explain the messages, but Lauren isn’t convinced. Then her ex-husband begins to harass her, telling her she shares too much online and brought this on herself. She’s also dealing with other problems. A difficult client at work – one who starts to show up in places he shouldn’t be. Her younger daughter is behaving out of character and Lauren can’t work out what’s wrong. And the cracks are literally beginning to show in her old South Dublin house, mirroring the cracks in her carefully curated life. Meanwhile, the messages from the internet troll become more personal and more vindictive. Her friends feel she should stand up to her stalker, but Lauren isn’t so sure. And then she makes one small mistake that brings everything tumbling down.
Andrea's debut novel The Other Side of the Wall.
Sinister plot and great writing.
A must read. Buy it.

Blogger for you to meet.
Linda Green Books of All Kinds. Award-winning book blogger.
Linda Green says hullo to you all.. Hi, I’m Linda Green and I’m a wife and mother from Ireland. I have always loved the written word since I was a little girl, sneaking a torch into bed with me at night to read Malory Towers under my duvet. As I got older this love remained and as an avid reader and writer I studied English Literature in University and later went on to manage and work in different bookstores in my local area. However, it was only in 2016 when I started my very own book blog (www.booksofallkinds.weebly.com) that I really began to take my own writing seriously, and finished An Oldecastle Affair within a few months. Being a book blogger is such a wonderful experience and I love being a part of the book community, and as I helped spread the word about authors who were making their dreams come true, it gave me more confidence to reach for my own. The blog also helped me to hone my writing skills and build up a social media following which is very rewarding. An Oldecastle Affair is the first book in the Oldecastle Series and I am currently writing my first draft of the second book, titled An Oldecastle Secret. I love to connect with authors and readers so please get in touch and see what is happening on Books Of All Kinds. Chat soon!
LINDA'S BLOG IS STUNNING.

How I Reached out to Readers as a Debut Author by Sharon Thompson
How did my debut crime novel ‘The Abandoned’ make #1 Best-seller on Amazon Kindle, on the day of its release? Honestly – I don’t know. I do have a great publisher and excellent local and family support, but I work hard to reach readers. My family is emotionally blackmailed into purchasing. Every friend is cajoled into sharing my links. But…. fellow writers are definitely my unwavering supporters. I always reach out to those published/unpublished, those with blogs or the many people starting out. Writers tend to understand my anxious waiting, the nail-biting when opening emails, the horrid internal screaming while reading reviews. They counsel me. We help each other and we truly expect nothing in return. (You all know who you are. Thank you x) .......
Not just becuase I am on it :) ... but anyone interested in books needs to follow Swirl and Thread. It is an award-winning blog by Mairead Hearne.
Books By Women website (@WomenWriters) invited me to write a piece for them. It will be up on their website soon. I made them a video of 10 things about writing. :)
Book Awards and more.
Jacinta Matthews
Jacinta Matthews introduces The Annie McHale Debut Novel Award. Annie McHale was a wonderful, warm, inspiring and creative lady who entered the hearts of everyone she met. Her smile reassured, cast worries aside and for those fortunate enough to receive it, stranger or friend, their lives were the better for it. Annie loved anything creative and instilled in me a sense of thinking outside the box. If you can imagine it, then you can create it or at least have great fun trying. All my endevours as a child were not exactly bankable, but she always told me they were great and exactly what I set out to achieve. As you have probably figured out by now, Annie McHale is my mother. I always remember her with a book in her hand. She had one in every room, kitchen, sitting room, bedroom. She could have three novels going on at the same time, and she knew each one individually. It was her west of Ireland upbringing that brought the love of storytelling. I hope I received at least a pinch of her creativity. It was to honor her memory that I created this award. She always admired anyone who took a chance on their beliefs and kept going towards their goal. It is extremely hard to get a first book published, to find that one person who sees your dream and runs with it. So this award is to spur you on in your challenge and your goals. SUBMISSIONS All new debut novels launched in 2017 through a recognised publishing house will be eligible to enter. Please send your personal details and novel information to my email: bookbanterjacinta@gmail.com A longlist will be published in December 2017, short list in January 2018 and winner announced in February 2018 Best of luck!
DELALICIOUS A Full Plate for a Full Life Sinéad Delahunty This is a first cookbook by a GAA player. I love the tag-line, 'a full plate' sounds good to me.

Tramp Press release. They only publish a few books a year, so don't miss this one, 'Problems'.
Karin Baine
Karin must be one of the best-selling authors I know. Extremely popular Mills and Boon writer. From Fling to Wedding Ring. That title alone has me hooked! Karin is also lovely, modest and does give-aways of her books often. Watch out for Karin and find her books. She's heaps of them.
Part three of a trilogy but if I know Sam Blake this wil be a great standalone book as well. Sam Blake is one of my favourite crime writers and her alter-ego is a wonderful support to me too. A definite buy for me.
Rachael English is another consistently good Irish female writer. I met her many moons ago for other reasons and we only shook hands and I remember her clearly. A great woman and a marvellous writer.
Faith Hogan's Secrets We Keep. Again the title and cover just pull me in. Let's get readin Faith's new book!

Over 17,000 Roman Catholic priests were called up to serve in Hitler's armed forces during World War 2. One refused. This is the fascinating true story of Franz Reinisch who, in a remarkably brave and principled act of conscience, refused to swear allegiance to Adolf Hitler and was put to death by guillotine as a result. His refusal to serve was based on what he witnessed of the persecution of the Jewish people. The story begins with Reinisch's refusal to take the oath in 1942 and then traces his origins in Austria: his troublesome youth, his romantic involvements, his decision to become a priest and his maturing into a spiritual leader whose decision of conscience led to his harrowing ordeal and ultimate demise. Based on historical fact and painstakingly researched, I Will Not Serve is beautifully written in a vivid and evocative fictional format - an inspiring story from a dark era. Franz Reinisch has been in the process of beatification since 2013.

This is a riveting read and I know that Mentor Books and their Red Stag imprint have lots more titles to come. Watch this space.
The Story Collector is a beautiful and mysterious historical romance from the author of The Heirloom and The Mysterious Bakery on Rue de Paris. Thornwood Village, 1910. Anna, a young farm girl, volunteers to help an intriguing American visitor, Harold Griffin-Krauss, translate 'fairy stories' from Irish to English. But all is not as it seems and Anna soon finds herself at the heart of a mystery that threatens the future of her community and her very way of life..... Captivated by the land of myth, folklore and superstition, Sarah Harper finds herself walking in the footsteps of Harold and Anna one hundred years later, unearthing dark secrets that both enchant and unnerve. The Story Collector treads the intriguing line between the everyday and the otherworldly, the seen and the unseen. With a taste for the magical in everyday life, Evie Gaughan's latest novel is full of ordinary characters with extraordinary tales to tell. Perfect for fans of Jess Kidd and Eowyn Ivey.

Lorna's other books.
There is my endorsement on the cover! Adored this book.
With their newborn baby, Lorna Sixsmith and her husband Brian James swapped their public service careers in the UK for the love of cows beneath Slievemargy's Brow. Lorna's grandfather George had inherited Garrendenny's "shrubby wood, bog and decayed timber". One of nine children, Lorna's father Joe devoted his life to modernising and improving the farm. Now Lorna's children play in the same fields. Recounted with Lorna's trademark wit, through these touching, heart-warming and often amusing stories of Joe's s childhood in the 1940s, Lorna's of the 1970s and now her own children's, we share this journey down memory lane to glimpse rural life down the generations. Whether it was being on the back of a tractor to deliver milk, foraging for blackberries or bumping along grassy tracks atop quivering loads of straw, the long days of summer were filled with adventure. Townie cousins came to stay, hay fields were obstacle courses, superstitions and country cures abounded, and weather was the main topic of conversation. Each generation is different, but some aspects of rural life don't change. There are the highs and lows of farming, when you don't know whether to laugh or cry, but laughter, as Lorna finds, is always the best medicine.
